Pastoral Care
Being a community means caring for one another.
Everybody has a story!
How does all of life fit together?
How do I know that this is what God wants me to do?
How can I be forgiving when I still hurt?
With whom can I talk?
Pastoral Care is there when you need it at St. John!
Pastor Gary Schaper recently joined the St. John staff to work in the area of pastoral care. In the early part of his ministry Pastor Schaper was a mission developer in southern Indiana and then a senior pastor in Indianapolis. After getting his doctor’s degree in pastoral care and counseling from Christian Theological Seminary in Indianapolis, Pastor Schaper was called to do individual guidance and leadership development with the students at Concordia Seminary in Clayton.
Now that Pastor Schaper has joined the St. John staff, he is available to hear your story, spend time with you, and give pastoral support. Where therapeutic counseling is needed, Pastor Schaper will offer referral to a licensed Christian counselor with an active faith.
