Small Groups

Check out this definition -

An intentional gathering, varying in size, committed to meeting regularly, accomplishing an agreed upon Christian purpose.

It's all about flexibility-and an understanding that "one size does not fit all."

Some of the purposes of a group might be:
  • Sense of belonging
  • Support
  • Learning(Bible and other Christian materials)
  • Taking risks together(another way of defining missional)
  • Helping one another solve problems
  • Friendship
  • Fun

How do groups form?

More flexibility here as well.
  • Leadership 101 Small Group Leader training provides a foundation for those who desire to form their own groups-using their sphere of connections.
  • Growing Deeper-a small group resource produced for each sermon series-makes it easy for short term groups to form in the office, in your neighborhood, or on St. John campus.
  • Most small groups are open and welcome guests and potential group members. A list of current small groups(with openings) is available upon request.
